Nefertiti Earth (b. 2003, Detroit, MI) is a 22-year-old fashion photographer and web designer based in Downtown Detroit. Her works document the experiences of the diverse Generation Z Black youth and adults, presenting themes of self-exploration and empowerment through a mosaic of shared narratives/glimpses within the community.
Coming from an Afrocentric background raised on the west side of Detroit (Berg-Lahser), her themes are often influenced by urban city life experiences, a neo-soul/funk tune, and the underground nightlife scene in the area. Earth visually represents her ideas through the dynamic movement of her subjects to discuss emotionally complex concepts surrounding self-identity and purpose within society.
Earth will receive her B.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the College for Creative Studies in 2026.
In 2023, Earth created the editorial series “Biophilia”—a play on humans' interconnected relationship with nature. The following April, she was featured in 1202 Magazine for the visuals issue. Through colors, music, and her personal life experiences, she uses these values as "tools" to showcase her unique perspective on the modern world.
